To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to CJ. H8430 R1/M2.9.25. STEERING. X. 8430 X. 5430 I think it is imperative to at once settle upon a pitch of steering worm for the existing box, on both 40 HP. and 20 HP. cars. It appears that the pitch and levers must be such as to give about 2.250 revs. of the steering wheel from full lock to full lock, that is, slightly over one rev. from zero on each side. This is understood to be about 15% slower than our latest Silver Ghost standard, which I believe was 1.875. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
