To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. c. BJ. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} EFC3/T14.12.28. SEQUENCE STARTER MOTOR FLUX AND TORQUE. Further to our EFC3/T20.11.28, we now send you torque and flux curves for the new lengthened armature S.S. motor. It will be remembered that this motor was made with 74 armature conductors and 4½ turns per field pole. The torque curve on an ampere base is very nearly the same as the 82 conductor shorted armature motor with 6½ turns per field pole. The effective flux ampere curve gives, as would be expected, a smaller degree of saturation. The ohmic resistance of this motor is considerably less and stalling torque much higher. EFC. Curve herewith. | ||
