400b To. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} CHATEAUROUX. 3/.21.10.38. 8.B.V.- BENTLEY III. We have received the following for which we thank you. 1) Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.I/R.19.10.38. and Matrix Unit. We were most impressed with the promptitude with which these were sent. Do you require the damaged matrix back at Derby? 2) Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/R.18.10.38. The copy of your report on the trip was much appreciated. We should be interested to know the exact difference in the height of the centre of gravity of 8.B.V. and, say, 6.B.IV. 3) Specifications from HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/NHB. 4) Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}9/R.18.10.38. We will complete 15,000 miles on the existing steering and suspension parts as instructed. We will however, fit the softer front bump buffers which Kennington brought out and remove the wedge pieces, in order to give a fairer chance to the silentblocs. We will try the new yokes and improved geometry on completion of the mileage, before the car returns. I have noted your warning regarding accidents and enclose copy of memo I have circulated to the drivers. The investigations into the cause of the flat spot are not yet complete. -------- P.S. We have received telegram from Steadman. Matrix will be despatched to-day. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux} Ivan M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Waller. | ||
