This column is for Name of Person addressed. DATE. I would like you to specially see these ventilated side guards so that you can decide as to whether you think they are a really satisfactory job. HELICAL GEARS:- On this car the above are not satisfactory being too slack in gear and causing camwheel knocking. We are experimenting further with these gears and as already reported have obtained more satisfactory results. The angle of gears on this car is 33 degrees 38 minutes whereas Marine Engine was 24 degrees 44 minutes. INVERTED SPRINGS:- Springs above axle attachment to axle as originally design- ed{J. L. Edwards} by Mr Bailey, the off side spring appears rather short and the cross bar at the end of the spring is too close to the roller. Contd.
