RE SEQUENCE SILENT STARTER. X7650

Answering your M6/110.6.26, the progress
which has been made in this direction subsequent to our
EFC2/118.11.25 of the operation of the apparatus on 9-EX,
has consisted in the complete re-instructioning of the job
from W.W. to the Drawing Office and from the Drawing Office
to our Expl. shop.
The alterations in the main comprise -
(1) Completely redesigned actuator box with switch operated by movement of motor pinion.
(2) Alteration in the reduction ratio of epicyclic gear.
(3) Minor alterations to winding and gaps of the main and relay double switch unit.
(4) The Duplex push button starter switch.
As regards (3). Of the two main and relay
switch units which have already been produced, one on
chassis 9-EX forming part of the previous equipment, has
been re-arranged as regards gaps and windings in order purely
to overcome certain defects which we previously reported,
and has overcome these satisfactorily, so that the system
on that car is working satisfactorily with the exception of
the thump on engagement and the following-up thump when the
engine does not start.
