F.O. Hickling, Esq.,
Messrs. Ransome & Marles Bearing Co.,Ltd.,
NEWARK-on-TRENT.

Dear Hickling,

I am at last sending you examples of the three types of bearing failure; these are, firstly, failure of the tracks, and in the particular bearing we are sending you of the balls also; secondly, failure of the cage in one of the latest type bearings; and, thirdly, the broken outer race of the thrust housing in one of the latest type bearings.

When you have had a look at these will you please send them back, as they are useful exhibits for our Museum; if, of course, you want to take them to pieces, or destroy them in any way, then we do not mind your doing so.

Yours sincerely,
