Dear Hall,

Further to our conversation on the track yesterday, this confirms we have asked you to point out to the R.A.C. -

(1) We have lifted the Air Cleaner slightly from its normal position on the rocker cover. The object of this is to make it easily detachable in the event of a valve spring breaking. If they object to the alteration we can quite easily put it back to its standard position; we are anticipating this and are improving facilities for changing the valve springs with it in position.

(2) It might be convenient if we could put the spare coil alongside the coil that is being used and couple the two together by a switch. Here again it is really of no importance if they object.

(3) We attach two charts of your gear ratios now we have altered them. You might point out to the R.A.C. that the ratios have been altered as they will probably want to know what has been done even though it is allowed by the Regulations.

(4) Exhaust Silencer. We particularly want the R.A.C. to approve of the exhaust system fitted to this car. Attached is a sketch showing the inside dimensions of the system. As I am making up another system in a heavier gauge, I particularly want to know if there are any objections to this, and if so what size they would like us to make the various sections.
