X6092 To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} E.6/HP.11.10.32. C. Sr. Wer. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Ds. Vibrator Regulator 20/25 and other chassis. We have produced in By's electrical section two schemes D.Sch. 583 and D.Sch.585, of which prints are attached, showing alterations required for incorporating the vibrator regulator control in our standard installation. The first print shows a combined mounting for the dynamo automatic switch, the vibrator unit, and the distribution board. The last named is divided into two sections, the smaller one on the right hand side being for accessories. This obviates having to supply a separate fuse box for the coachbuilder and at the same time leaves him without any justification for interfering with the main fuse board. The covers for the two halves of the box are interchangeable, but the top one is sealed to prevent interference with the cut-out and regulator. It would be a distinct advantage to be able to protect the cut-out in this way, as at the present time it suffers much from unauthorised and unnecessary attention. So far as we are aware the unit as proposed on D.Sch. 583 can be got in quite well on the various chassis where it would be required. D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Sch. 585 merely deals with the modifications required on the 20/25 switchbox for converting to vibrator control, and shows only one "on" position for the ignition switch since the charge should always be left on while the engine is running. Prints of D.Sch.583 and 585 are attached to Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}'s copy of this memo. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} [Stamp: RECEIVED 12 OCT 1932] | ||
