The two proposals for providing an extra fuse that were examined at this morning's meeting, were submitted to Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}for his remarks, which are as follows :- To move the conductors on the existing distribution board and so free the adjacent fuse for use on the headlamp circuit, would mean the removal of the distribution board from the dash, which in itself is normally a four-hour job, and to complete the modifications would represent a day's work for a skilled electrician. The alternative proposal of an accessory distribution board added to the dash, would not involve the removal of the distribution board and could be completed by the average tester-mechanic in two hours. The additional cost of the accessory distribution board is small compared with the time saved. A big factor so far as the Repair Department is concerned is the small time during which the car would be out of the customer's hands, and also the fact that it does not require a skilled electrician to make the changeover. The Repair Department therefore request that the scheme with the accessory fuse board, be adopted. BY/RD. | ||
