Dear Sirs, Referring to your letters of 10th. and 16th. instant regarding hose connections, you will have probably had by now an official confirmation from our Order Office of the instructions to hold up production of sample hose connections to print No. EW.1633. We wish you to do this because there is a likelihood of our having to alter the shape of this hose slightly (increase of off set of two ends by approximately .250 is probable) in order to avoid an unexpected foul between the bottom water pipe and the engine. We presume that this modification will not entail new tools and would like your confirmation of this. We will send you a print of the altered detail as soon as it is available. The sample hose to drawing EW.1633 which you have appears to be quite satisfactory, and except for this small alteration to shape, we have approved same. With regard to the special "Tee" hose connection mentioned in our letters of 9th. and 11th. inst., we have proceeded with our design on the strength of the facts which you gave us.
