hose connection is as shown on attached blue print (please note that this is not the final detail and has no piece number). In view of the fact that this differs somewhat from the hose originally discussed, we would like to hear from you, by return if possible, as to whether this hose connection is equally feasible to manufacture and of similar cost - if so we will detail it on these lines. You will note that the small snout is inclined at an angle to the main hose, if this is likely to increase the cost and difficulty of manufactur considerably, we could probably modify our radiator so that both portions are in one plane. Again we would like your remarks on this point, and information as to whether the figure of 31/- for former, still holds with the revised shape.

With regard to this figure of 31/-, the tool charge of £5 quoted for the EW.1633 hose seems large in comparison with this, it would seem logical for the tools for the EW.1633 hose to be less costly than those for the more complicated hose. We would like your remarks on this point.

Finally, we would be interested to know just how these hose connections are manufactured, whether moulds are used, whether the canvas reinforcement is a continuous tube etc., how the snout reinforcement will be joined to the main hose canvas etc.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
