Re Worm Geared Back Axle.

With reference to your memo RB{R. Bowen}/D30511 asking me to send out some gear blanks to English people, I have sent out enquiries to the following firms and none of the people are prepared to cut a Hindley Worm Gear for us.

Messrs. Henry Wallwork & Co. Ltd., Manchester.

Messrs. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Wrigley & Co. Ltd., Foundry Lane Works, Soho, Birmingham.

Messrs. David Brown & Sons, Huddersfield.

Mr. John Sunderland, Keighley.

They, however, strongly recommend their ordinary type of gear, and attached herewith is a booklet (No. 940) from Messrs. David Brown giving particulars of some of the gears they recommend.

Attach booklet(940) and 4 letters.

This sheet must be filed with the correspondence to which it refers.
