R.R. 3482 (100) (F ptd. 6.11.09. R.F. Bcy) DEPARTMENTAL MEMO. Issued June 30th, 1911. X/41 This column is for Name of Person addressed. DATE. Mr. Nadin. 30.6.11. CJ26/C30611. Re Worm geared Back Axle. I presume this matter is urgent - that is to say I presume gears are wanted for the experimental worm driven car. If, as it appears, it is impossible to obtain the horizontal worm gear, it is for us to consider whether it would be as well to fit the ordinary worm gear on the experimental car and leave the question of the horizontal worm until Mr. Royce's return. I think, therefore, that this is a matter on which you, Mr. Wormald, Mr. Barrington, and Mr. Platford, should meet in committee and try to make up your minds and arrive at an agreement as towhat Mr. Royce would do if he were there, and then take action in accordance with the decision arrived at.
