X7660 RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from EFC. c. BY/RD. EFC4/T25.4.29. S.S. CHASSIS DYNAMO. X8664 Referring to BY/RD4/N24.4.29, we are of the opinion that the machine which we have in here and which is representative of S.S. production electrically, is not suitable for putting on chassis 21-EX as absolutely representative of S.S. production. Amongst other things, the armature connections have been rather patched up and cannot be considered as reliable as a standard job. The only course would appear to be to produce another machine for 21-EX absolutely to the latest instructions. In regard to further machines, will BY/RD. note that it is considered probable that intermediate output armature machines will be well in the running for standardisation. That being the case, it will be appreciated that we are anxious to have one of th two of these machines as soon as possible for our S.S. expl. cars. It is understood that these intermediate output armatures will be instructed in the first instance with the thinner armature stampings. EFC. | ||
