14-EX. This car was tried this morning by Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Bt.{Capt. J. S. Burt - Engineer} and Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} in order to form an opinion on the subject of the suspension and the general riding of the car. In order to arrive at a definite opinion on this subject it was thought better to compare it with our London Trials Sedanca over the same road and at the same speeds with the same number of passengers, and in order to do so both cars were taken up to Hampstead for a test run over Bishops Avenue. A run in both directions, one way at 30 m.p.h. and the other at 45 m.p.h. indicated a very definite superiority for the springing of 14-EX from the point of view of comfort. The difference is best described as less harsh and was very definitely noticeable. It was thought that there was perhaps a little too much movement arising out of a want of a little more damping, but otherwise all three were agreed that the springing of 14-EX was to be preferred to that of 81-RF, the Sedanca. This test was not carried out with a view to making decisions on any other points, it being understood that the car was exactly the same when tried before, with the exception of the back seat upholstery and the back axle. Any criticisms therefore of the engine, or any other points, except springing, remain as before. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} Bt.{Capt. J. S.
