Construction of a copper-plated cork float and the design of baffles in a petrol tank.

The float is of cork copper plated, and care should be taken that the copper plating forms a petrol-proof joint with the end flanges which secure the cork float on the tube. These flanges should be sweated to the tube.

Lastly, referring to the baffles in the petrol tank, Mr. Royce is of the opinion that it is quite unnecessary to have the large apertures shewn for the passage of the petrol. He thinks it is only necessary to have two small semi-circular holes as shown top and bottom, together with a few other round holes of moderate diameter in the baffle.
