that, in spite of the greater variation, the Delco distributor makes for a better engine performance than the R.R. pointing to the fact that within certain limits a little error in the cam does not greatly affect engine performance. With regard to the bent spindle on 4B50 we assume that this has been caused by a tester inadvertently pressing off a tight rotor. This is an old trouble which has cropped up from time to time both in production & in the repair department. With a little care a tight rotor may be withdrawn, without damage by using two levers anchored at opposite sides. Poppe. | ||
