In the past, Distributor shafts have been bent, due to a tight rotor being withdrawn from the spindle by means of leverage at one side. Such a case recently occurred on 4.E.B. when the distributor shaft was bent .010 inch, thereby throwing the synchronism out nearly 6 degrees and causing poor engine performance. Will all tester in future pay special attention to this point, with a little care a tight rotor may be withdrawn without detrimental effects with the use of two levers anchored at opposite sides.
