-4- Action Drawings are required for the modifications to the seat backs. The extra cost was estimated at 6/6d for the pair with an additional £130 for tooling. It was agreed to introduce this feature as a standard item as soon as possible. VS{J. Vickers} 22 Front ashtrays The provision of the Texas duct deletes the existing ashtray and a sample of a small ashtray which can be fitted on the top of the capping rail, at either side of the mirror, was accepted. It was agreed to fit it into a plastic pocket so that a bare hole would not be left in the capping rail when the ashtray was removed for emptying. The mock-up was to be prepared to check for reflections in the windscreen and a suitable finish to the lid{A. J. Lidsey} was to be agreed with JPB. JPB and Kgt 23 Extra speaker on parcel shelf The standardisation sheet was to be started by VS{J. Vickers}/RD for introducing this feature as standard and it was agreed it would be introduced with a fixed front to rear volume balance rather than with a variable control. A speaker to existing drawings is to be installed in B 116 AN for inspection by LS and to check for clearance with the boot unit refrigeration. Kgt The material cost was quoted as 25/- and the additional prime cost including fitting is approximately £2 but a final cost estimate is to be prepared. Hpd 24 Sealed beam headlamps It was stated that R.H.D. units will be available from Lucas in May but as the availability date of R.H.D. units is not yet known they will not be instructed on production until both are available. VS{J. Vickers}/RD Gry{Shadwell Grylls} suggested that the Service department should consider introducing a scheme for hiring yellow lamps to customers for Continental touring. SB{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister} VS{J. Vickers}/RD is to check that the Lucas units are interchangeable with other makes in the event of failures abroad. VS{J. Vickers}/RD Modifications to the tool tray are required to accommodate spare units. 25 Provision of heat shields It was agreed that no alteration should be made to the heat shields at present being fitted. 26 Improved Thermostat A wax thermostat which is not subject to pressure is to be instructed to replace the existing bellows type as soon as possible. Wst The extra cost was quoted at approximately £1 but a detailed cost estimate is to be prepared. Hpd 27 Reserve petrol tank Drawings of the 3½ gall reserve tank to PL 8960 and photographs of the control in the boot for the change over tap were examined. The main criticisms were : a) / | ||
