Action

It was agreed that all electrical items were to be introduced on production at the same time to simplify re-organisation of wiring looms.

14 Map lamp

It was agreed that the map lamp to scheme CL 3338 was to be instructed on production for the Motor Show.
It was estimated to cost an additional 4/- together with £50 tooling.
It was agreed to adopt scheme CL 3277 which had been issued for push-pull action of side and headlamp switch to operate the green light on the capping rail. This feature was also to be introduced on production for the Motor Show.

15 Luggage strap

Luggage strap RB{R. Bowen} 6113/4 is to be deleted, but the existing staples are to be retained. This should result in a saving of cost of approximately 17/-.
It was agreed to use up existing stocks of straps.

16 Manual operation of electric window lifts

It was agreed no action required but development should proceed to improve the reliability of this feature. An improved grommet for the brake solenoid wires is to be instructed to prevent water from entering the mechanism.

17 Additional interior light switch

It was agreed to consider the removal of the interior light switch from the door pillar to a position adjacent to the lamp in the roof. VS{J. Vickers}/RD was to obtain a supply of reliable switches for inspection by LS. It was agreed that this feature should be introduced as a standard item at the Motor Show.

18 Backlight demister switch on instrument board

As there is no space available on the instrument board, VS{J. Vickers}/RD is to investigate the possibility of fitting the switch to the trim pad under the capping rail.
The owner's handbook was to contain instructions on the use of the switch.
It was agreed that this feature was to be introduced as a standard item at the Motor Show.

SB{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister}

19 Suspended driving mirror

It was agreed that SB{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister} would issue a leaflet giving a simple explanation of why the mirror is fitted in its present position and drawing attention to the fact that the swivel mounting is eccentric.

20 Horn ring

It was agreed that a complete ring was essential and would be introduced on Burma.
Scheme CL 3334 modifying the trafficator switch for head-lamp flashing has been issued and is to be tested. If it is satisfactory it will be put forward for standardisation.

21 Improved rear ashtrays

The Neale sample ashtray was approved but re-assembly after removal is to be eased by providing a lead-in for the hinge tabs. It is to be road tested for rattling.
