The Harrison Radiator Corporation,
Lockport,
New York,
U.S.A.

For the attention of Mr. L.P. Saunders.

Dear Sirs,

As you are aware, we are at present using on our cars radiator matrices of the Harrison Vee Bonded type, known in this country as the Marston Mark V.{VIENNA} This matrix is the type which you were using approximately three years ago.

We have recently tested an improved Harrison block known as the Marston Mark VI over here, and which was your latest product just about a year ago.

At the moment the Chausson Gallay people are trying to sell us a type of matrix which they claim is very much superior to any type of film block. It appears to be a variation of the Young type of block, using vertical oval water tubes with sheet metal fins using undulations and louvres. This type of matrix is used by Ford and Morris in this country.

We should very much like to know whether in your opinion the claims for the Gallay matrix can be substantiated; i.e., whether it is better than the best of your own products. We are attaching a sketch of this matrix for your information.

We should also like to know whether you have had any difficulty due to the Viscon type of oil temperature regulator bursting under service conditions, and what precautions you have undertaken to avoid this.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
