Mr Royce is extremely anxious that we should make more progress on finding a radiator more satisfactory than our present one. As you are aware, the chief trouble with our present radiator is leakage, and with a view to overcoming this trouble Mr Royce has made many proposals. He wishes us to test the various suggested radiators and compare them with the old one on the bumping rig, using 2" bumps instead of the 3" bumps often used. He suggests the following programme:- (1) Run our present standard radiator and note how long the radiator is able to resist the test before leaking. (2) Carry out the same test on the Ferman radiator.
