28.G.VI. COOLING SYSTEM SPECIFICATION.

The cooling system etc. of 28.G.VI. car should be brought up to the latest specification instructed for production, except for the special items listed below. Please note that this will necessitate either a new front engine suspension pressings or else the existing one will have to be modified to have the correct position and size of the hole for the bottom water pipe, and also a curved bottom hose to Ew.1633. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. will supply a suitable insert spinning for the filler cap.

Special items for 28.G.VI.

(1) Radiator - top tank and escape pipe scheme modified to a scheme which By/Ald.{F. Allwood - Experimental Design} is doing for us, but baffle to Ew.1613 to be still fitted and longer studs to be fitted to escape pipe flange to suit steam valve Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}417.

(2) Bonnet - Bonnet to be fitted with .040 silver finish Lysaghts No.I. steel top plates (material in Expl. Garage Stores) and Widney Hinge (used as radiator stay) to FCD.504. Widney Hinge should be ordered from Messrs Hallam Sleigh & Cheston Ltd.

(3) Fan. - Latest production scheme except that 'Fero-grip' belt is to be fitted. (Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. will supply). Also new blades of the correct hardness material should be fitted to the fan.

(4) Water Pump - thrust button scheme to SCD.509 and thrust bush to TXS.992 to be fitted to same.

(5) Thermometer position. - modify cyl. head for production position of thermometer bulb i.e. to SCD.504 attached herewith.
