Supercharged Bentley.

The object of these tests on the blower is to reproduce the condition where the supercharger is on the same side as the induction pipe, a scheme which is being considered by the Design Dept.

So far we have had no success with the blower close to the induction pipe. We have not yet, however, tried the supercharger on this side above the induction pipe. This latter test is now in hand.

The American supercharger gears which we have been waiting for to get a silent drive for road demonstrations have not yet arrived, but we are going ahead without them.

We think the arrangement which we tried 21.12.34 on sketch HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}69 will be good enough to give an indication of what we may expect from the blower when it is finally designed into the engine. This is what we are testing on the road.
