BENTLEY BRAKE DRUM FOR BRAKE LINING TEST RIG.

We want a drum, the rubbing surface of which is absolutely concentric with the races in the hub, for a test rig. We have great difficulty in obtaining one, production grinding is .005" eccentric, and even turning on races in the experimental is no good, the drum being several thousandths eccentric.

We think the only way to obtain a satisfactory drum is to book out a new rear Bentley drum from production, (as these are now stiffer than they were). and finish grind the surface with a portable grinder, the drum being spun on its races. It seems essential that the races should not be disturbed after grinding, and any machining products which get into the races will have to remain there.

We would like this as soon as possible we are badly behind with our testing.
