REAR HUBS SECTION 6170. Please receive herewith G.CD.14 Stiffened Axle Shafts Bentley 111, which shows modifications to N.Sch.5174 and N.Sch.5192. The Axle Shafts have been increased in diameter and the number of Splines increased from 8 to 12. Both Differential Casings have been bored out to 1.225 Dia, and the Bushes deleted, the Shafts being hardened and having a clearance of .006 on Dia. with Diff. Casings. The End Cover in the Hub is the standard Bentley to give more clearance. The above Scheme has been detailed and issued Experimentally. Scheme has also been now approved.
