(5) Wind Noises

This trouble on the two Wraith cars tried appears to have become more pronounced and these two cars are certainly very bad examples. Decided this question must be tackled seriously. It is a matter that cannot be left to the Coachbuilders alone to investigate; they make no progress. Decided that there should be a Meeting between Sales official(Hn{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}), Mr.Ward of Park Wards and Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} at the Works with these two cars to thoroughly investigate the noises, their causes and remedies, with Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} issuing a full report on the matter.

BENTLEY

The development of Bentley generally is dealt with in RmIO/R5.10.37.

(1) "M" Series

By had reported improvements proposed but report had never reached those to whom it was addressed.(By3/G5.10.37). Copies are being despatched. This memo referred to following improvements in "M" series -

(a) Stronger axle shaft
(b) Improved steering (Wraith)
(c) Fixed radiator shutters
(d) Smaller wheels with larger tyres.

As regards the smaller wheels with larger tyres, it was pointed out according to the blue print received from W. this indicated a reduction in the width of the rear sest by 1 1/2 inches. S. cannot accept that - in fact no reduction in width could be tolerated. A discussion on this point brought out that it was quite possible these smaller wheels with larger tyres can be fitted without the necessity of this reduction, and the matter [REDACTED].
