RE. FITTING MAGNETO TO 20.HP. CAR. X4327

In reply to your memo. BY1/P101023., we had two objections to your scheme - one was that the H.T. conductor was trailed over the flywheel casing and therefore in contact with metal, and the other was that the conductor at the front end of the engine was in great danger of being mixed up with the Hardy fabric coupling driving the water pump.

We have taken up this matter with Mr.Royce and he is prepared to forego point No.1., but he is decidedly of the opinion that we must keep the cable clear of the coupling. We are looking into the job with a view to improving the appearance of the scheme we sent you, and will let you know what should be done in one or two days.
