Chandler}1/AP.6.9.37 PHANTOM III. CLUTCH. A Long type driven plate with Thermoid facings is about to be fitted to production chassis. The original arrg. drawing was Ex.27309 but is now G.85600. These plates are particularly susceptible to damage in transit and subsequent handling, and before issue for use it is necessary to check and correct the run-out to bring it to within .010. Hitherto this work has been carried out by the Expl. Dept. prior to issue to Repair Dept. or Depots for replacement on customer's cars, and to date about 40 have been issued. There are now 18 plates in the Central Stores and a further 50 are expected within about a week. Will you please have these plates trued up as necessary ready for use. At the moment two are urgently required by Repair Dept. and one or two by Test Dept. It is anticipated that replacements to cure customers' complaints will absorb all available plates after the requirements of Production have been met. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/NRC.{N. R.
