Re: Phantom III - Clutch.

Further to our memo BY.18/N.25.8.37, Borg & Beck have informed us they have supplied 38 assemblies, leaving a balance of 62 to be delivered which they have promised to complete at the rate of 10/12 per week.

Of the 38 assemblies delivered, 29 have been allocated leaving a stock of 9, and with a further 4 despatched last night, and further deliveries at say 10 per week we should have a stock of 33 in a fortnights time, say Sept.18th.

Assuming the deliveries are maintained and we allocate 4 assemblies for production and 6 for replacement, we should have a floating stock of 33 assemblies for 7 weeks at which date deliveries of the further order for 250 assemblies should commence, at the same rate.

In view of the present position, I consider we should be quite safe in fitting the new parts in a fortnights time without fear of breaking continuity of output, and I should like you to consider this as we are anxious not to fit any more of the present type clutches than is absolutely necessary, knowing that in all probability they will have to be changed later.
