Messrs Park Ward & Co. Ltd, 473 High Road, Willesden, London, NW.{N. Walker - Patents}10. Dear Sirs, Re. Bentley 'A' First Body - Four Door Saloon. We took this car on the road and there were certainly many rattles. The following were in the body. (1) The O.S. front door glass was loose in its guides and this also applied to some extent to the other door glasses. (2) The ashtray in the scuttle rail had no felt lining to the hole receiving it with the result that it rattled. (3) The walnut finishers to all the doors appeared to spring and in one case the ferrule tapped the window lift handle. Strangely enough the finishers do not appear to do so on the second body. (4) The screws attaching the shield over the sunshine roof had come loose and one had entirely come out. We have replaced these with longer screws, but it would appear that the reduced section of the roof ribs makes it impossible to get an adequate size of wood screw. (5) On this body and on the second body we have fitted a new type of door stop. This has done more to cure the rattles than anything else on the first Bentley 'A'. cont'd | ||
