justified in being somewhat displeased with this change of design of which, so far as the undersigned can make out, we had no notification.

For your observation we are sending you, (addressed for the attention of Mr. McKinnon) sample terminal stud, one of each kind, the one of which has come out in ordinary use and the other has been cut out to shew the difference. It will be noted however, that the casting of the lead lug containing the more approved type of stud has a faulty blow hole.

Yet another point is, that though we consider the deeper stud and the method of securing it to be better than the shallow one, we are of the opinion that a better augmentation of the hold of lug on stud would be provided, not by the two holes at right angles as in the sample, but by the provision of two cylindrical cut aways in the sides of the stud as shewn in the sketch below.
