(3) Exhaust Silencers.

Three silencers have been produced by the Experimental Dept. with the aluminized treatment. We are making arrangements at Cricklewood to have them fitted to cars that can be kept in touch with. The results will take some time, but the last 10,000 miles test has been satisfactory.

(4) Hydraulic Damper Knocks.

The manufacturing of the hydraulic dampers has been completely overhauled, limits have been tightened up, and every precaution taken to ensure a 100% job. The results in service will be taken note of.

(5) Oil leaks from Tappet Covers.

New cork jointings are being tried out by the Experimental Dept. The chief trouble, however, lies in making sure that the joint is properly stuck down in the first place.

(6) Petrol Gauges.

The fault of petrol gauges has been taken up with the Makers and is still being dealt with. There should definitely be less trouble in the future than in the past.
