Chassis - Re Fuse Holder for Switchbox.

Yours By/Mtnl/H5.7.21. Your remarks, together with the modified Fuse Holder, were immediately communicated to the Lucas Electrical Co.Ltd. and we are now in receipt of their reply, dated 7th inst. as follows:-

"We thank you for your letter dated 6th inst. in "regard to fuse holder for switchbox and have duly noted "your remarks. We shall be pleased to make the screws a "little longer and rivet them over in order to prevent "them being unscrewed right out. We thank you for the "sample you have sent us and would say we are proceeding "with these modifications without delay.

"With regard to the difficulty of fitting the new "type fuse holder in the switchbox, this is mainly "caused by the centres of the fuse clips being reduced "by you in the sample distribution box which you sent to "us some time ago to illustrate the new design of clip.

"We have made the new fuse holder in accordance "with these centres which centres are considerably "smaller than those in the switchbox. If you will agree "to us going back to the larger centres, it will enable "the new type fuse holder to be designed into the switch- "box in a much more satisfactory manner unless we make "the fuse clips larger for the switchbox, but we think "you will agree with us that it will be better to have a "standard fuse holder throughout the set, and we therefore "await your instructions that we may increase the centres "in the distribution boxes to those of the switchbox "which will enable us to proceed without any real difficulty."

The letter above quoted was signed by Mr.Turner of the Lucas Electrical Co.Ltd.

Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}
