EAC.V11 Batteries.

Upon receipt of yours By/Cghll/Cl.11.26 conveying your decision to employ Peto & Radford standard mouldings for the purpose of our experiments, we communicated with Messrs. Peto & Radford and we are now in receipt of their reply dated 4th inst. as follows:-

"We are in receipt of yours of 3rd inst. We are sending this to our Works and we do not see any reason why they should not make up the batteries as you want them. With hand-made alterations, such as you suggest, the appearance will not be too good, but we presume you will understand this."

"We are very glad that you have decided not to ask us to make the special moulds at present, because in the Spring we anticipate introducing very considerable improvements to our moulding plant and methods, which will mean much better boxes being made, and as the tools will, we expect, be rather different then, we should not like to make some for you which would be almost the last of something which would quickly become obsolete."

"With regard to sending us an order for these, it is difficult to say what all these hand-made lids and other alterations etc. will cost, but if you wish for a figure on which to place an order, we suggest £10 for each battery (of 2-6 volt units)."

"The writer is proposing to come and see you about this and one or two other matters in the near future if convenient to you."

At the same time we informed the Chloride Co. of our decision and stated that if as a result of our experiments we decide to adopt the 12 volt battery built into two 6 volt moulded containers, we shall send them full particulars, and as heretofore afford them the opportunity of supplying one-half of our total requirements of such batteries.

The Chloride Co. have replied as follows:-

"We are in receipt of your letter of 3rd inst. kindly explaining the proposals to be adopted for the purpose of your experiment."

"If you would like to fit one of the composition containers with Exide plates for the purpose of
