Dear Mr.Clark,

Tungstone Accumulator.

I am in receipt of your letter reference EFC1/T of the 18th instant.

The first page of your letter entirely meets the point when you say you have understood that the outer window frame grids are made of antimonial lead, and that the lattice work grids are made of pure lead. I think the Tungstone Battery Company definitely distinguish between the lattice work grid and the outer frame.

You have cited two batteries using pure paste, hence the query what is it that other accumulator makers do which the Tungstone Company does not, or vice versa. As I mentioned in my last letter, our test of Tungstone plate grids (and frames) shews that they are antimonial lead. As you apparently have some of their positive plates, by paring the grid you will see for yourself whether the metal is pure lead or an alloy.

I have carried out various tests on Tungstone cells personally which confirm your own results.
