TYRE EQUIPMENT FOR RR. CARS. X44050 Y4565

Attached is a list of other makes of tyres which will fit on our 21" rims.

We do not want any other tyre but Dunlop or possibly Michelin to be fitted as balloons on the front of the 40/50 HP. car. We consider it would be as well to let customers know that there are other makes of tyre which fit this size of rim so that they could obtain them if they were stranded.

We have an additional piece of information in connection with the 6.75" traction tread tyre which we think might be circulated in the Instruction Book - it is as follows :-

"When driven hard, the traction tread tyre wears so that the back edge of the diamond studs is lower than the front edge. It is important that if tyres are changed when in this condition, they should be fitted so that the tread runs in the same direction as previously otherwise if the direction of rotation of the tread is reversed, the treads will produce a very objectionable noise".
