Coverley - Production Engineer} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}4/M18.11.31. SYNCHRO MESH GEARBOX. x5310. There was a criticism of the bearings on the 3rd. motion shaft in the original comments on the synchro mesh box. Would you please tell us how this matter stands. Are you still in difficulties with the two bearings being the same size? One suggestion we are prepared to make is that Hoffmans might be willing to grind out one of the bearings slightly larger than the other. Another proposal is that the arrangement shewn on the Phantom synchro mesh gearbox - N. sch. 3364. - could be adapted to the 25HP. by using a larger bearing. We do not however wish to do this for several reasons if it can possibly be avoided. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
