Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,

We beg to thank you for your letter of the 15th inst., and note with pleasure that you hope to be able to give delivery of the special connecting rods and bearings towards the end of this week.

We thank you for your recommendation giving the diametrical clearance for these bearings, and we are assuming that you wish us to bore the bearings when tightly clamped in the connecting rod to the figures which you quote. Actually, in the production of lead bronze bearings we have finished the boring operation of the big end after a .003" thick shim has been clamped between the joint faces of the rod and bearing, but in the case of your bearings we consider from your letter, that you do not wish this practice to be embodied.

We note also your remarks regarding costs, and directly we receive your advice upon this item we will have an official order sent through embodying the costs which you quote.

Yours faithfully,
DENNIS BROTHERS LIMITED.
