II. 40. Excessive oil consumption and over-oiling. March Quarter. C.C. 3 Previous Quarter. C.C. 2 Six months. 5 B.105.CW - 26,206 miles. Experienced excessive over-oiling after fitting lead bronze bearings. Bored out cylinders and fitted a set of o/s aerolite pistons, which cured the trouble. B.118.BL - Removed lead bronze bearings and high capacity oil pump and replaced them by connecting rods with hall's metal bearings and low capacity oil pump, which overcame the trouble. We sent Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} and Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} a full report upon the matter as per our Sr/VA6/GM23/36. B.179.AE - After the fitting of a set of lead bronze bearings, the owner complained about increased & excessive oil consumption. We rebored the cylinders and fitted a set of .010" oversize aerolite pistons, which overcame the trouble. As the car had covered about 50,000 Kms. we charged the owner. 41. Jumping out of 2nd gear. Fitted new plug. We now fit KLG.850 type plugs when making replacements. 43. Fitted a set of connecting rods with lead bronze bearings. March Quarter. C.C., C.P. Previous Quarter.
