Dear Mr.Elliott,

TWO LEADING SHOE BRAKE

Many thanks for your letter of the 2nd inst. I had a very interesting session with Mr.Robotham and Mr.Martindale yesterday and it has been arranged that we shall make up a set of brakes which will be interchange-able with your standard assembly, and that these shall be fitted and tested on one of your chassis at the earliest convenience. It is agreed that this will be the best way to prove the claims we make regarding this brake.

The demonstration yesterday on our 20 h.p. Rover car was fairly satisfactory, but owing to certain deficiencies in chassis design, as compared with your own designs, certain features were present which I am sure will be eliminated entirely on your own install-ations, so that the tests which you would carry out could be applied directly to the brakes themselves and would not be complicated by these chassis deficiencies.

I thank you for the opportunity and look forward with considerable interest to the results of the test on the sample set of brakes we shall supply to you.

Kind regards,

Yours sincerely,

J.S.IRVING
Joint General Manager.
