For the attention of F.O.Hickling Esq. Dear Sirs, Re your telephone message of yesterday, we are arranging on the inner races to our F.61284, which we are supplying to you, for the following modifications to be applied as soon as possible. (1) 0.001-0.002 left on the inner face which abuts against the distance piece. (2) Limits on bore tightened up so that size is 0.440 + 0.0005 - 0.0000 (3) Care taken to ensure that end faces are square with bore. Apparently some of these pieces have already been sent to you and if you are unable to use these, will you please let us know as soon as possible. We wish to take this opportunity of giving you a list of all the faults on these rollers which have occurred in the past. (1) Inaccurate grinding of ball race tracks. (2) Very thin case hardening due to (a) Insufficient carburisation and/or (b) Excessive grinding allowance. | ||
