| -3- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}9/KW.31.1.35. Fedden is now comparing the Bentley with the Chrysler, whereas we told him that he should compare it with his Alfa-Romeo. Whilst we were at Bristol we had an opportunity of seeing Sir Stanley White and driving his car. His complaints are :- (1) Synchromesh rattle. This can be cured by attention to the clutch and fitting the anti-synchromesh rattle pieces in the box. This treatment completely cured Fedden's car. (2) Brakes inefficient when wet. When the car comes to the Works we suggest that the new water excluder should be fitted. (3) Valve gear noisy. (4) Performance not sufficiently good. The other Bristol Director, Mr. Smith, who owns a Bentley car, expressed himself completely satisfied with it. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
