BENTLEY BEARING Running covered by this report is Test Bench (1250 hrs big end bearings. (1250 hrs main " Road Tests. (30,000 mles big ends. (30,000 mles main bearings. The attached charts give an analysis (BV.100/101) of the test bed running with the various types of bearings tested. In regard to the 25/30 22.G.V. is running in France and has completed 25,000 miles with standard W/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} main bearings and Hall's A.C.7. big ends without complaint. Up to 500 hours have been run on the test bed in conjunction with oil consumption with these type of bearings at 4000 R.P.M. Photograph No.13. & 14 shews how the W/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} mains crack up, also the A.C.7. big ends which when limited to 4000 R.P.M. appear to be a good bearing. The following is a report in general of the Experimental tests which have been carried out on bearings to-date and confined mainly to the results obtained on test bed running.
