X698 To RHC. {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Les. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Les.6/KT. 31.7.33. SHOCK DAMPER GOVERNOR UNIT. The delivery of the pump in this unit is insufficient, causing considerable lag before the dampers become hard. With existing castings the diameter of the pump can be increased from .562" to .656". This gives 36% increase in capacity. Will you please modify the existing casting to the larger sized pump. Where new castings are to be made, we should like a still larger pump, having a bore of .812" diameter. This is just over a 100% increased capacity on our present pump.
