X4648 To By. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Les. c. to Edy. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Les.5/KT.28.7.33. GOVERNOR CONTROL SHOCK DAMPERS. In order to prevent damaging the shock damper bellows from excessive oil pressures in the system, we think it is necessary to have a release valve in the governor unit, which operates at 30 lbs/sq.in. pressure. At the moment a temporary seizure of the governor release valve in a closed position would cause the chock damper bellows to take a permanent set. We have fitted release valves to two of our cars including the last P.II. we had running in France. We attach Ex.10033 which shews where the valve is fitted. The actual parts of the valve we believe are slightly modified on later schemes. Will you please instruct a release valve with the latest governor unit. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Les. | ||
