The coil was removed from 7-GII on 7.2.24 having done 2370 miles. On 9.4.24 it was placed on chassis 3-GII and ran satisfactorily on this chassis for 3952 miles (total mileage 6322).

On 19.6.24 it was again brought into the laboratory and tested, together with redmanol encased coil TR{Capt. F. W. Turner - Finance} 5 and two standard stabalite coils, at artificially obtained temperatures of 77°, 82°, 87° and 100°C. My assistant's report WA.{Mr Wallis}60 on these tests is attached.

Quoting from the summary of results obtained :-

"It will be seen that the redmanol encased coils
"in both cases give better results than the stabalite
"at all four temperatures, 77°, 82°, 87° and 100°C, and
"it is suggested that they should be given further
"thrashing tests on chassis in a thoroughly hot condition."

Later it was tested again with a different redmanol encased coil TR{Capt. F. W. Turner - Finance}3 (see below) and a report WA.{Mr Wallis}85 of 6.10.24 is also attached.

The results were materially the same.

Finally this coil is at present instructed to be fitted to the latest Goshawk chassis GF.68 for continuation of ordinary running conditions.

TR.{Capt. F. W. Turner - Finance}2. This was received by us in February last. (The No. of turns on the secondary of all these coils is 18,000). This coil was put direct on chassis 7-GII, without first having undergone a production test, and covered 392 miles. It was then removed (being replaced by TR{Capt. F. W. Turner - Finance}3) and carried through the production test (as above) with satisfactory results.

On 27.2.24 it was put on 6-GII for the 10,000 mile test and has remained on this chassis to date, having covered 13,781 miles with satisfactory results.

During this period, however, it was temporarily removed for the purpose of thrashing tests with coil TR{Capt. F. W. Turner - Finance}3, in comparison with a standard stabalite encased coil No.4383 on chassis 7-GII, these results being recorded under TR{Capt. F. W. Turner - Finance}3. section.
