X7580. BP. c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}- c. to D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} BP. EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Thn12/027.7.23. Re. 40/50 Tool Kit and Oil Syringe, and Lucas No. 40 Oiler. Confirming conversation with BY, and in accordance with instructions received from S. that all 40/50 chassis which have been despatched without an oil syringe in the kit are to have one sent along, the total number of cars affected at the moment are 353. Of course this number will increase daily. We attach herewith to BP's copy a list of the chassis numbers affected up-to-date, and we shall be glad if BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} will make arrangements for the necessary number of oil syringes to be ordered up, and if BP. will make arrangements for these to be sent on for the chassis in question. Will BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} also instruct that as soon as syringes become available no further chassis should be despatched with Lucas No.40 oiler. BP. should bear in mind that apart from the chassis mentioned on the attached list, syringes will also be required for chassis despatched between the present date and the date on which syringes are available for sending out with actual tool kits.
