DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} TO CJ: FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} CONFIDENTIAL. E1/MS.2.24. Copy to WGR: RG{Mr Rowledge}: BY: HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}: re. DRAUGHTSMAN FOR Le CANADELHenry Royce's French residence. Handwritten: X9770 X1773 X103/ Referring to the above we should like to make it clear that the original recommendation of the design committee was not to send one of the W.W. men to Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence. We have since heard from Mr. Rowledge that a telegram has been sent to Mr. Royce suggesting that Mr. Evernden should go out. We agree that Mr. Evernden is the best man at the moment if anybody goes, but his immediate absence must necessarily delay the designs we were preparing for on EAC.3. for sending to Mr. Royce. Furthermore if Mr. Evernden is to be away any length of time we should say it would be necessary to get someone down here in his place, of suitable ability, to avoid delaying EAC.1V. chassis.
