W/S. Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/R.1.12.36. 25/30 H.P. CHASSIS. TYRE NOISE. 24.11.36. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has asked me to reply to your Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}1/KW. We agree that the tyre noise on GUL.1 is bad. We should be glad if you would send these tyres direct to Messrs. Dunlop, marking them with the chassis number, the mileage and the type of work they have done. They will be of interest as being representative of the type of wear which causes noise. We will contact with Dunlops, and see what they have to offer. I think that in view of the trouble you should try out a rubber body mounting on one of your Trials cars, similar to that fitted to the P.III. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
